A Note to Fans of TAYLOR MADE PLANS:
As you may have noticed, we at Taylor Made Plans have changed the access procedure to our database of house designs. The reasons behind this change are unfortunate, but necessary. After more than twelve years in business, our designs here at Taylor Made Plans have proven to be highly sought after by both individuals and developers. Over the past few years, we have had several builders copy and modify our designs without permission. House plan designs are intellectual property, and as such are protected by the Architectural Works Copyright Protection Act of 1990. Many people mistakenly believe that if they change or revise a house plan, then it no longer qualifies as copyright infringement. This is not true, and unhappily, these events have been occurring more and more frequently. Imitation may indeed be the sincerest form of flattery, but in this context amounts to little more than theft.
To put it in legal terms: All house plans sold by Taylor Made Plans, a Residential Design firm, are protected by copyright. Reproduction of the plans in their original form or as modified, or any part thereof, without prior written permission of the Residential Designer is strictly prohibited and is a violation of Federal Copyright Law.
We have worked very hard over the years here at Taylor Made Plans designing the best house plans possible for our clients. Developing a style that people love and building a brand that people trust has taken thousands of hours of time and creativity. The thoughtless actions of a few have required us to hire copyright attorneys and proceed with legal action against them.
We want to be completely honest and up front with all of our web site visitors. Our new log-in process will help us guard against any future violation of Federal Copyright Law. For those of you truly searching for your dream home, we make you a promise that your log-in information will never be shared or sold to a third party.
